- Established in 1989 by IEM Group Institute of Engineering and Management is the first self-financed Engineering College of West Bengal.
- The institute is situated in Kolkata in the IT hub of West Bengal. Approved by the AICTE, Institute of Engineering and Management is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology,
- which was formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology. IEM has been awarded by Grade-A by the NAAC with a score of 3.25.
